Kepler at 450: An Interdisciplinary Celebration (Kelvin Smith Library, CWRU)

On Wednesday and Thursday, November 17th and 18th, 2021, the Kelvin Smith Library at Case Western Reserve University is hosting Kepler @ 450: An Interdisciplinary Celebration. This event celebrates the interdisciplinary legacy of Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) on the 450th anniversary of his birth. It also celebrates KSL Special Collections' acquisition of the 1621 edition of his Mysterium Cosmographicum, on the 400th anniversary of its publication. Thursday includes a day-long series of talks by CWRU scholars from the departments of History, Physics, Astronomy, Philosophy, and the library, who will discuss the impact of Kepler's work on, and across, their fields. Guest artist and world-renowned cornettist Bruce Dickey will speak at the conference, as well as perform music inspired by Kepler in two concerts. For more information about the event, and to register to attend either in person or remotely, please visit https://case.edu/artsci/bakernord/node/2096.
